Kitchen Kit Drive 2011

RAP and ICNA Relief present:
3rd Annual Kitchen Kit Drive for Refugees

Gather friends to create a complete kit and help transform a bare apartment into a cozy home for refugee families that have recently arrived in the Chicago area.
Each kit costs around $200. Join hands with your school, neighbors or friends to complete a kit.

We request that all donations be new.
WHEN: Sunday, April 17, 2011, 12:30-3:30pm
WHERE: ISNS (old building): 3980 Industrial Ave., Rolling Meadows, IL

Each Complete kit should contain: Packing instructions:
Dinner set for 8
8 glasses
Cutlery for 8
1 tea kettle
5 large serving dishes
2 large cooking pots
1 large frying pan
2 sharp knives
6 kitchen towels
2 pack matches/ lighters
6 kitchen utensils
1 potato peeler
1 bottle/can opener
2 pot holders
1 large box of garbage  bags
4 bottles of dishwashing soap
1 dozen paper towel rolls
10 lb. rice
Cooking oil
Loose tea
1 microwave oven – this can be used provided it is clean and functioning.
1) Pack items in large boxes and clearly label with the name of your organization.
2) If you are donating more than one kit, please label all boxes in the first set as ‘Your Organization Kit -A’. Then label all boxes in the second set as ‘Your Organization Kit-B’ etc.
